Another strong episode from the Blacklist series. I must say I like more and more the theme of this season. The pace is higher, the story less fragmented, and more are at stake.
It’s good to see Tom Keen back into action, too. Though I’m not quite sure what he can do to help Liz, but he can make a difference, with his skills and his connections. Moreover, it’s cool to see him back to his old game, doing what he does best – going deep cover and taking on a new personality, live in it and make it his own. He is top class in that, and that gives me confidence that he will play a crucial role as the events continue unfolding.

It’s also touching to see Liz’s emotional side, when she confided in Red her deepest desire. It was simple, it was not fanciful, but it was really beautiful. What may be normal for others is her very deepest dream. I can feel the pain in Red’s heart when he knew it, and it will make him more determined than ever to clear her name and give back to her the life that has been robbed away from her. His purpose is now clearer than ever, the problem is just how to make her dream come true. And that’s what is so attractive about this whole series.

The whole purpose of this episode is not quite clear, since we do not know what was in the page that Red tore from The Djinn’s journal, but it most likely is the information about the 2 customers that are related to The Cabal. Up until now, that Cabal is still acting like an octopus, with legs out but head deep inside the cave, and what Red has been trying is to cut as many legs as possible until the head has no choice but to come out and fight, and that will be the final grand battle. It’s like Sherlock Holmes vs. Dr. Moriarty, and I’m looking forward to that.

Another interesting fact from this episode is the escape of Dembe, and the side switch of Mr. Vargass. With Mr. Vargass switching side to the Cabal, and his knowledge of how to locate Red, there will be much more problem for Red and Liz. After all, the one who is closest to you can be your Achilles heel. History has proven that time and again, but hopefully Red will not fall into that trap with his caution and experience of 20 years in the dark world.
Last but not least, NBC released the promo of the next episode, and it seemed that Red and Liz would really be in big trouble. Many people would be willing to kill for money, and a bounty big enough to turn heads will surely attract a lot of attention.

Liz looked worried. What did she see?

This photo rings many alarm bells for me, since we know Mr. Vargass has switched side to the Cabal

Another carjacking, I suppose?

Really really big trouble…

It’s good to see her again. She has been doing great as one of Red’s most trusted associates so far, and I really hope she won’t switch side like the other one.

Now she is no longer worried. She is very scared. Confirmed.
